This is a hard time of the year.  It’s still winter, Punxsutawney Phil  poked his nose out and decided there will be six more weeks.  In Virginia I guess that means six more weeks of sunny and high fifties punctuated by short bursts of ice/rain/sleet wintry mix.  I’ll take that.

When I talk about a hard time of  year, I’m referring to the NFL season. As the weeks tick by, the games get better, the competition more intense and the end nearer. Now, what will we do? Look back?

Look ahead?

Will Denver draft another QB?  How will the QB competition look?  How much will Tebow learn and improve this off season?

Whatever will the Redskins do?  Draft a big, expensive Free Agent?  Get a QB? Build up that O-line?

Where is Peyton going to play?  More importantly, when will the NEXT commercial come out?

Who is Denver going to draft? Who will they sign? When does mini camp begin? Will I survive til then.  That’s Larry’s question, after 20 something years he’s figured out that Sunday IS football day…  and Monday, and Thursday, sometimes Saturday and Wednesday (NFL Insider) and, well, all the time.  This is a must see interview by the way…

The Super Bowl XLVI is a classic, already. It had everything. Well, everything but MY team.  That may be a good thing. If that were my team coming down to the LAST second and some crazy, crazy plays…  if that were my quarterback having nearly a perfect game in the middle while beginning and ending in such a horrible fashion…  I might have needed CPR.  I still remember my heart racing through most of the Super Bowl with Green Bay… the helicopter game.  The MIGRAINE game.  I almost didn’t make it.

The cardiac Giants… 9 and 7! are the champions. Beaten TWICE by the Redskins.

If you find your way to the payoffs… if you fight, you believe, you work hard, focus, dream big dreams, play as a team, put the team before the individual, work, work, work…  once you are in the tournament, everyone is equal. Focus, be mentally tough, work hard, rest well, enjoy the journey… be the world champions.

How about the game? I thought the coverage was good, Collinsworth is awesome. Madonna is, well, middle aged and the show was so OVER. THE. TOP.  Which is vintage Madonna.

Hey Brady… it’s okay.  You are one of the very best, in the very best sport. I’m a Denver Broncos fan. I’ve lived this FOUR times and some of those losses were much worse – leading by 10 in the first quarter comes to mind. Your place in Football history is secure and I imagine you’ll be back … maybe with a defense to match.
